GARETH WALTERS
DIRECTOR, CRIMINAL DEPARTMENT
Gareth graduated with First Class Honours in Law in 2009 from Cardiff University and completed his Legal Practice Course in 2010. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in August 2012 and joined Keppe Rofer that month, having completed his training contract with JNP Legal in Merthyr Tydfil.
He was made Partner in May 2017 and is a member of the Criminal Department. He is a fully accredited police station representative and a Duty Solicitor.
Gareth regularly represents clients in the Police Station, Magistrates Court and the Crown Court and has dealt with a large number of cases, from cases of the utmost gravity to minor motoring offences. Gareth has developed a reputation for his skill and knowledge in representing clients charged with the most serious sexual offences and offences against children.
Gareth has a particular interest in acting for children and young persons in the Youth Court and all aspects of Youth Justice. He is known for putting clients at ease and for his personable nature, particularly when dealing with the young and the vulnerable.
As well as being a member of the Criminal Department, Gareth also spends approximately a third of his time in the Wills and Probate Department, where he both supervises other members of the department and assists in drafting Wills and acting for Executors and Administrators who require assistance in administering estates and applying for Grants of Probate.
Gareth is the Firms Compliance Office for Finance and Administration (COFA)
